Galleri Dobloug - 8. Jun 2010Terra sancta – Utstilling in Beirut
- Utstillingen åpnes på UNESCO-huset i Beirut den 8. juni
klokken 18.00. På åpningen vil det bli taler av landets kulturminister Selim
Warde og den norske ambassadøren Aud Lise Norheim. Kunstneren vil være tilstede
på åpningen. Kurator for utstillingen er Daniel Johansen og Venke Aarethun er
prosjektleder.
Etter fire uker vil utstillingen føres videre til andre
steder i Midtøsten, blant annet Nasjonalmuseet i Damaskus og Nasjonalgalleriet i Amman. - 26. mai 2010Håkon Gullvåg i Kina
- Håkon Gullvåg vil presentere sine arbeider til et kinesisk publikum i en rekke utstillinger over hele landet i perioden 2010-2011. il utstillingen blir det også laget en kinesisk bok som dokumenterer kunstnerens arbeid fra de siste 20 årene.
Maleri og grafikk vil bli vist i separate vandreutstillinger. Maleriutstillingene vil bli lansert i Suzhou den 26. mai og senere i Hangzhou sammen med Trondheimsolistene som vil framføre skandinavisk musikk. 31. mai lanseres serien med grafikkutstillinger, med åpning i Three Gorges Museum i Chongqing. Utstillingen vil senere flytte over hele landet i løpet av en periode på to år.

Gullvåg Exhibitions in China 2010-2011
Norwegian painter Håkon Gullvåg will be presenting his works to a Chinese audience in two exhibitions touring across the country of China in the period 2010-2011. The exhibitions will be accompanied by the publication of a new book documenting 20 years of his life’s work. The two separate series will be focusing on paintings and graphic works respectively.
The painting exhibition will be launched in Suzhou on the 26th of May. Opening speeches will be held by the Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry Trond Giske and President of Soochow University Zhu Xiulin. The opening will also be accompanied by a music performance by a string quartet consisting of members from the Trondheim Soloists.
The exhibition of the graphic artwork will follow on the 31st of May in the Three Gorges Museum in Chongqing. The exhibition will subsequently be displayed across the country during a span of two years.
Håkon Gullvåg was born in Trondheim in 1959. As a painter, he has been central on the Norwegian art scene since his breakthrough in 1983. His paintings include historical and contemporary portraits, as well as paintings incorporating experiences from his own life and paintings inspired by classical works in the European tradition or literary works. From 1995 onwards, he has been known for his church decorations and he is considered among the country’s greatest in the field. He is also renowned for his many portraits of significant Norwegians. In addition, Gullvåg has worked much with the graphic medium in the last 10 years.

- Speil for tidens ansikt er en dokumentasjon av Gullvågs
kunstnerskap innen portrettmaling. Boken er gitt ut på Labyrinth Press i 2009
og redaktør er Harald Stanghelle. Det rikt illustrerte verket viser utviklingen
til Gullvågs portrettkunst i løpet av tre tiår. Bidragsyterne som Jan Kjærsad,
Lars Saabye Christensen og Erik Fosnes Hansen har sine personlige refleksjoner
og tilnærminger til bildene og portrettet som sådan.
